Red band trailer for The Do Over, starring Adam Sandler and David Spade.

The life of a bank manager is turned upside down when a friend from his past manipulates him into faking his own death and taking off on an adventure.

Teaser Trailer

The Do Over is the second comedy that Adam Sandler will release through Netflix after The Ridiculous Six. And this isn't the end of their relationship. Expect at least two more films from Sandler through the premium network.

Expect to see most to all the familiar Sandler cohorts.

While The Ridiculous Six felt sort of desperate for about half the cast including the star, the red band trailer for The Do Over pitches something different and not nearly as desperate. Instead of doing a Western spoof, Adam Sandler and David Spade have teamed up for an action comedy. And, while it troubles me to say it, The Do Over looks like it could be theatrical quality, not just Netflix filler.

I was going to call the red band trailer for two reasons. One-Save for a couple sequences, the preview isn't exactly R-rated. Second-I have to ask, where the hell is the rest of the cast? Sandler doesn't do films without at least picking  half his buddies from a list of usual suspects. While the trailer runs for two and a half minutes, it fires off a six-second compilation that shows off the supporting characters in rapid fire fashion. Well, two at least, where we see Kathryn Hahn and Nick Swardson.

While the red band trailer for The Do Over disappoints in its er, R-ratedness, it does do one helluva job presenting a Sandler comedy that looks worth checking out.
