After surviving eight near-death accidents throughout his unlucky life, Louis Drax [Aiden Longworth] plunges off a steep cliff on his ninth birthday. While police investigate the cause of Louis’ near-fatal fall and the whereabouts of his violent father Peter [Aaron Paul], acclaimed neurologist Dr. Allan Pascal [Jamie Dornan] uses unorthodox techniques to try to tap into the boy’s unconscious mind and reveal the truth about the events that led to his condition. I was not sure what to expect as I had not heard too much about this film prior to watching this first trailer, and I was pleasantly surprised.
The film is a mix of psychological thriller and sci-fi. What had me worried was that I did hear that the film was originally shot back in 2014, but was shelved and will be released this year. Not sure why it was delayed but that is usually a bad sign.
There is definitely some interesting imagery in the film and the film has quite a unique storyline to work with, so lets just hope that everything comes together in a nice cohesive package that does not disappoint.
