Bess, a rebellious trailer park teen, has just lost her mother. With only a faded photograph and scribbled address in hand, she decides to seek out her father, a man she’s never known. With a state-enlisted social worker hunting her down, Bess grabs her friend Waldo, steals a car and make a desperate journey from Kansas to Vegas. It isn’t long before this troublesome duo catch the attention of Roach, a career con man trying to find his own way back home. This unlikely trio of misfits embark on an adventure through the beautiful and dangerous landscapes of America's Midwest, where they encounter an array of lost-souls, deadbeats and con men, and ultimately learn that family can be found in the oddest of places.
