Feature trailer for Sun Choke, now being released on August 5th, 2016, by Xlrator Media.

As Janie recovers from a violent psychotic break, she’s subjected each day to a bizarre holistic health and wellness regimen designed, and enforced, by her lifelong nanny and caretaker. But when she develops an obsession with a stranger, Janie’s buried demons begin to surface.

Trailer

The festival feedback on Sun Choke describes the film as a "small" horror that enjoys getting more and more er, unpleasant as it continues through its running time. The film doesn't feel the need to explain much, or the number of flashback visuals it presents to audiences, with the result being something that unnerves audiences though never providing any real answers.

Finding an audience was deemed tough, hence why it took a couple of distributors to finally get Sun Choke to domestic theaters.

Ambiguous indeed. Even the feature trailer for Sun Choke doesn't give much to go on, save for a mixture of scenes that have us wondering what the hell is going on. Sure, the visuals actually look pretty cool, though disturbing, but not sure if that is enough to draw me away from the home for a viewing.

It looks like nudity and sexuality is a constant theme, making me wonder why XLrator Media didn't just sack up and go for a red band trailer. Wishful thinking.
