Proper Introduction

Just Happened

The movie is based upon the short story "Story of Your Life" written by Ted Chiang in 2000 an the film had been planned since as early as November 2012.

With 46 reviews counted, Arrival has a whopping 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes!

This film reunites American Hustle co-stars Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams.

Arrival will be Director Denis Villeneuve's first time at the helm of a science fiction film. Which seems to be his new favorite genre because as soon as he finished Arrival, he started working on the new Blade Runner sequel.

Not much new stuff in this final trailer for Arrival. Which is probably a good thing. Paramount Pictures is probably just releasing this basically an extended TV Spot to keep gaining exposure for people who may not yet be aware of the film. People that already know about Arrival who are sci-fi fans probably plan on seeing it based on the cast and glowing reviews it has already received.

SPOILER ALERT...SPOILER ALERT.

This film has a very unique concept. We know that after the aliens come to Earth, Louise (Amy Adams) is enlisted to communicate with the aliens. She is eventually granted access to their entire language. As seen in this trailer, the aliens have a special "weapon" which Louise comes to find out that the weapon they mean is in fact memory, and she understands that the creatures have found a way to view time as a nonlinear process. In the process of learning the language she learns the ability of their weapon and can clearly see into both her past and future.

Could Arrival be the best science fiction film of 2016? For me it looks like it will be between this film and Passengers, both of which have not been released yet so far so time will tell.
