Trailer for Starless Dreams.

"Sentenced: to life. Accused of: being born. Address: Vagrant Avenue, Poverty Alley. This is the diary of my screwed up life…" So begins the journal of a young incarcerated woman, one of many in a juvenile facility on the outskirts of Tehran. While their crimes range from drug dealing to manslaughter, there are no hardened criminals here—just girls emerging from desperate circumstances, which they spontaneously share with candour and wisdom well beyond their years. Together, they find a bedrock of support their families can't provide. Many fear the consequences of returning home. This gentle and unremittingly intimate gem from renowned Iranian doc filmmaker Mehrdad Oskouei offers a powerful indictment of social apathy.
