Someone Marry Barry Trailer Screencap

The trailer for Someone Marry Barry has a lot going for it and a little going against it. The cast includes some likeable actors such as Damon Wayans Jr. and Thomas Middleditch.

Barry is the always enjoyable Tyler Labine who has just been the shining light in everything he does whether it’s the underrated television show, Reaper, or the hilarious film Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. Labine once again plays the loud friend who always does and says the things that make his friends cringe, so the only thing they think to do with the guy is to find a wife to pawn him off. Their plan backfires when Barry meets the perfect woman for him played by the always insane Lucy Punch. The two are equally disgusting and appalling, making Barry’s friends even more embarrassed and horrified. I am sure Barry’s friends could just tell him they don’t really want to hang out anymore, but because social interaction is awkward, they just have to deal with all the zany antics Barry gets them into.

The premise for Someone Marry Barry is actually funny and fairly original. The friends seem cruel to want to just find someone to deal with Barry so they don’t have to, so the addition of Lucy Punch is satisfying. The problem is that in the trailer we see that there are so many gross humor and ridiculous events that Someone Marry Barry could completely go off the rails, but there is hope for something more.
