Trailer for Smallfoot, starring Zendaya, Channing Tatum, Danny DeVito, Gina Rodriguez and James Corden.

An animated adventure for all ages, with original music and an all-star cast, "Smallfoot" turns the Bigfoot legend upside down when a bright young Yeti (voiced by Channing Tatum) finds something he thought didn't exist -- a human.

News of this "smallfoot" brings him fame and a chance with the girl of his dreams. It also throws the simple Yeti community into an uproar over what else might be out there in the big world beyond their snowy village, in a rollicking story about friendship, courage and the joy of discovery.

If the premise sounds familiar, you are not entirely off base. The whole idea of monsters being afraid of "mythical" humans has been told before. Just think Monsters Inc and Hotel Transylvania. But, unlike those two films, our secluded civilization is also in denial of the existence of humans. Aka Smallfoot.

While this was released as a trailer, this latest look at Smallfoot still feels like a teaser. Take for instance the character voiced by James Corden. For this extended look, we get to hear the actor hyperventilate, but that's about it. Obviously a bunch of dialogue is lacking. Warner Bros instead is hoping audiences are drawn to the familiarity of Channing Tatum, who doesn't exactly sound like himself either. Without being told, I would never have guessed that our lead character, Migo, was voiced by him.

So where does that leave us? Well, fortunately Warner Bros doesn't have much to worry about yet. The film isn't do out for almost another six months, which gives the studio plenty of time to put together a more elaborate trailer.
