This will only be Director Michael Carney's second project he has worked on. His first was a short film titled Jew, a film that explores the difficult reality of hate crimes that people still face today (2012).

Was originally set to be Renée Zellweger's first film in six years. The film had a release date in April 2016 but was later pushed to February 2017 and hereby Bridget Jones's Baby (2016) became her first big screen appearance after her hiatus.

Filmed in Canton, Mississippi the same place where A Time To Kill was filmed.

I thought it was hard to recognize Renee Zellweger's transformation in the Bridget Jones's Baby Trailer,  but this was near impossible. I knew she was going to be in this film and kept looking for her in the trailer and did not realize that the woman with the brown hair was in fact Renee. I literally had to pause the trailer and double check. And now knowing that was actually her first film she shot after her "hiatus" plus the different hair color and I can see why (or cannot see) it was hard to see the actress we all know from Bridget Jones's Diary and Jerry Maguire.

This is not my type of film, a feel good drama that pulls at the heart strings in almost every which way. You have a woman who suffers from sort of illness and a homeless man who faces racism and modern day slavery. And, in the end it is the homeless man who has nothing that brings the two together. It all sounds great when you pair it with these 4 acclaimed actors, but the trailer just moves so slowly...not for me.
