Trailer for the documentary Redemption Stone, which screened at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival.

Redemption Stone introduces Tom Lewis, a storyteller of quiet power who brings an extraordinary spirit to his life and work. Tom’s compelling memoir recounts the aftereffects of poverty, social upheaval and rebirth that shape his unique American journey.

Born into a family of sixteen children, Tom navigates his way through the world as a migrant worker, a factory laborer, a soldier and then a riot cop on the mean streets of Washington, D.C. Tom’s journey leads him to a burned out old house in one of the roughest run-down neighborhoods in our nation’s capitol where he opens up a place he calls The Fishing School. It’s here that Tom confronts the challenging issues he faces and turns hardship into hope for the children in his community.
