Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is based on the best selling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, who adapted Jane Austen's classic novel and gave it a zombie twist.

Natalie Portman was originally cast as Elizabeth Bennet but had to leave the project due to scheduling conflicts. She remained on board as an executive producer and the role went to Lily James instead.

Lily James and Bella Heathcote, who play two of the five Bennet sisters, both auditioned for Disney's live-action Cinderella. The role went to James.

Mrs Bennet is Sally Phillips' favorite role from her own film work.

If you love zombie movies and Jane Austen, then Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will be the perfect movie for you. If not...well then still give it a go because it's a lot of fun.

For those not familiar, the film follows the five Bennet sisters of Austen's creation as they fight off a zombie apocalypse. In the original Pride and Prejudice novel the Bennet sisters were fiercely independent and strong women (for their time) and this element of the characters has been kept and added to, resulting in five fearsome ladies against whom no zombie stands a chance.

Following on from other trailers which gave more of an idea of plot, this trailer consists of nothing more than a montage of zombie killings...but it works. It's awesome, and fun, and just a great watch. It's cleverly put together and the little moments in between killings are perfectly timed, particularly Lily Jame's cute laugh and Matt Smith's (as Mr Collins) exclamation of delight.

I adore Pride and Prejudice, and I was hesitant of this movie and the addition of zombies, but such a strong element of the original novel has been kept that it's hard not to like it. The film might not be the biggest smash of all time but it will be a great film for an evening with friends, and Lily James was perfectly cast to play Elizabeth; the lady with an edge and amazing dagger skills. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's a fun romp through Edwardian Britain, littered with zombies!
