Trailer for Predestination.
Film chronicles the life of a Temporal Agent sent on an intricate series of time-travel journeys designed to ensure the continuation of his law enforcement career for all eternity. Now, on his final assignment, the Agent must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time.
Predestination premiered at SXSW to mostly positive reviews. Variety's Justin Chang called the film, "An entrancingly strange time-travel saga that suggests a Philip K. Dick yarn," though concluded that the film will likely succeed with a cult following at best.
TwitchFilm seems to agree, explaining that the film's time paradoxes pile up to the point of confusion.
It's hard not to have a time-traveling movie without some confusing paradoxes, but Predestination at least seems to handle the subject beautifully. Here's hoping I end up joining Variety's predicted cult following.
