Trailer for the live-action Peter Rabbit, starring James Corden, Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne.
Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter's feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne). James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.
Domnhall Gleeson -- who has been exploding of recent -- has a history of sharing the screen with the beautiful Margot Robbie. Though she wasn't shown in the trailer, the actress definitely makes an appearance in Peter Rabbit. Making this the third collaboration between the two after About Time and Goodbye Christopher Robin. And, speaking of reunions, Daisy Ridley also stars. Gleeson and Ridley recently shared the screen for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Sam Neill was originally sought for the role of Mr. McGregor, but the production went with a younger face with Gleeson after Neill couldn't break away from his scheduling for Thor: Ragnarok.
Peter Rabbit looks like a cute movie, with somewhat of an Alvin and the Chipmunks formula. Though I have absolutely no desire to catch this in theaters, the film's premise and surprisingly strong cast should be enough to help its box office take for families seeking a G-friendly adaptation.
I'm assuming the next trailer will make it a point to showcase the expanded cast, instead of a single familiar face (and voice).
