People is a dark comedy loosely based on works from Jean-Paul Sartre and Ambrose Bierce. The film is a series of six vignettes featuring a wide array of characters in a struggle for control over each other. Perspective being a key motivator in this inter-conflict—the characters wanting to be regarded or seen as they’d like to be in the eyes of others. This is where the camera comes into play. Once the characters begin to realize they are being watched by a camera, much more an audience, their behavior changes, their anxiety rises and inevitably the tension intensifies.

The characters come in all shapes and sizes, from every walk of life; pitted against one another for our own entertainment. They are subjected to highly stressful scenarios where secrets, flaws, and weaknesses are exposed. Faith itself is shaken. And values, ideals, masculinity, race and sexuality are all challenged. In the world of People, affability and political correctness have been liquidated—as these poor players wreak havoc upon each other and themselves—until the embers of truth and raw emotion are all that remain.
