Patriots Day Theatrical Trailer (2017)
Theatrical Trailer for Patriots Day.
An account of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis's actions in the events leading up to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath, which includes the city-wide manhunt to find the terrorists behind it.
When the film did a casting call for extras, there was a line stretching the entire quarter-mile length of Braintree Street in Allston.
This is the second time Kevin Bacon has played the real-life head of the FBI's Boston field office, the first time being in Black Mass (2015).
Patriots Day reunites several actors back together. Melissa Benoist and J.K. Simmons both previously worked on Whiplash (2014). Mark Wahlberg and J.K. Simmons had previously worked together in Contraband (2012). This will be the third collaboration between Mark Wahlberg and John Goodman. They were also in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) and The Gambler (2014).
We get a totally different vibe from the first Trailer. In the first trailer the entire first half of the trailer concentrated on the events before the bombing with a happier tone and then the second half of the trailer shows the events after the bombing. With this Theatrical Trailer we get a much better look at what happens after the bombing as eighty percent of the trailer takes place after the tragic event, which is a much better representation of the film.
This trailer has done its job and makes me want to see this film even more. The casting looks to be spot on especially Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Bacon. What I am most excited about in this film is how they are going to focus on the aftermath. We all know how tragic the event was, but this film will give some insights into what actually happens behind the scenes and how the authorities track down and capture these terrorists.
Patriots Day looks like an emotional roller coaster of ups and down coupled with a thriller that I am looking forward to watching.
