Outlaws and Angels Trailer (2016)
Watch the Outlaws and Angels trailer, starring Chad Michael Murray and Clint Eastwood's daughter Francesca Eastwood.
When Outlaws on the lam invade the home of an unsuspecting, seemingly innocent, frontier family to hide out for the night, an unexpected game of cat and mouse ensues, leading to seduction, role reversal, and ultimately, bloody revenge.
The lead blonde, the daughter turned rogue, is Francesca Eastwood. If you think the last name is coincidence, it's not. After her father, Clint Eastwood, gave her the cameo role of "Waitress #1" in Jersey Boys, the actress has been spotted around in a number of films and TV shows. And, just when you thought having her dad be Clint Eastwood was crazy, her mother is Frances Fisher, the same actress who looks to be killed at the beginning of this trailer. You know, Titanic mom!
Before being picked up by Momentum, Outlaws and Angels was screened during the 2016 Sundance Film Festival's "Midnight" catalogue.
I am a fan of Westerns. I wouldn't say big fan, as I'm sure I'll start getting quizzed on plenty of Western "classics" I've likely never heard of. But I'm a fan, of the ones I've seen, and am glad to see the genre picking up some momentum in the last couple of years. I was a huge fan of Slow West, and am looking forward to The Magnificent Seven. Which brings us to Outlaws and Angels...
I'm not sure what to think about this one. Is the film purposely meant to look sort of cheesy -- attempting to emulate a bit of Tarantino -- or did it just turn out looking dated. It's not exactly clear what the goal is of this trailer other than selling a Western that looks more like an arthouse film. If that was the goal--nailed it.
It if wasn't, maybe we should worry about this latest Western installment.
