Trailer for Outlaw King, starring Chris Pine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Florence Pugh, Stephen Dillane and Tony Curran. Film will premiere to the premium network HBO.

The untold, true story of Robert The Bruce who transformed from defeated nobleman, to reluctant King, to outlaw hero over the course of an extraordinary year. Forced into battle in order to save his family, his people and his country from the oppressive English occupation of medieval Scotland, Robert seizes the Scottish crown and rallies a ragtag group of men to face off against the wrath of the world's strongest army lead by the ferocious King Edward 1 and his volatile son, the Prince of Wales.

Theatrical Trailer

Robert the Bruce got a bad wrap after Braveheart, since that biopic alluded to the idea that the historical figure back-stabbed William Wallace. It turns out that this wasn't at all the case and, if Wallace got betrayed, it was by someone else entirely. Dick move Mel Gibson.

When you see the team behind Hell or High Water, you have to wonder what happened to Ben Foster. It turns out that Foster was initially sought to play the role of James Douglas, but he later dropped out. The role was later taken by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Robert the Bruce finally gets some redemption. The biggest surprise is that this seemingly large-budget period piece is being distributed on Netflix. It looks fantastic, and love hearing both Chris Pine and Andrew Taylor-Johnson rocking the Scottish accents.

As crazy as this sounds, might even have to catch this film in theaters. Whaaaaaa?
