Bob Underwood, a disenchanted foreman at Pilgrimtown's Mold-O-Form factory, works day after day producing plastic lawn-ornament deer, secretly longing for more out of life. One day, Elsa, a Georgian refugee, begins work at the factory, and Bob becomes enchanted by her thoughtful questions, haunted singing, and doe-eyed features. A lover of real deer and woodland life, she makes Bob realize that his life is in real need of change. First, though, he must save Elsa from her fate as a poor factory worker. A thoughtful dramatic comedy for all ages - but beware of the flaming deer.
