Looks like there will be a surprise cameo as Matt Damon and Carl Reiner are the only cast members from the Ocean's Eleven films to appear in the Ocean's Eight spin-off.
OK, so immediately everyone is going to compare this film to the 2016 Ghostbusters film which starred an all female cast: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Which makes sense, but this film is its own entity and will need be judged compared to the prior Ocean's films. I love how Hollywood is trying to give female actors more leading roles and while I did not care for Ghostbusters, I think this one may have a chance.
I like the cast they put together and think there will be a great balance between the "cool" spy characters and the comedic relief characters. I am really hoping that this film turns out great, but I have my doubts because I enjoyed the smartness and clever funny characters from the previous films.
