Tom Ford, the fashion guru, is now Directing his second film. The first film was A Single Man, which did just OK at the Box Office bringing in a little over $9 million. It was not a huge success but at least it did make a little money. A Single Man was also nominated for an Oscar, Colin Firth for Best Actor. Jeff Bridges won that year for his role in Crazy Heart.

Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal have been cast in another project called Ezekiel Moss which would have been directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman. However, the project was scrapped after Hoffman's death in 2014.

On Rotten Tomatoes the film has an approval rating of 77%, based on 26 reviews, with an average rating of 7.3/10. On Metacritic the film has a score of 75 out of 100, based on 14 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".

Wow this film looks intense. I was already looking forward to this film simply based on all the buzz it has received from the festival tour, and after watching this trailer, I am even more excited.

I love the cinematic feel of the film, especially the color grading used. It gives the film a gritty old Hollywood feel.

The actors look to be a perfect fit for these intense roles, especially Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Shannon. I would not be surprised to see Tom Ford repeat his Oscar success from A Single Man and one of these 3 get nominated. Jake may be able to get the Oscar which he has not been nominated since Brokeback Mountain (Supporting Actor) and Nightcrawler which he was nominated for Best Actor in all the other Award shows except Oscars.
