In a delusional frenzy, a previously non-violent young man savagely attacked “the prettiest woman he could see” in a shopping mall. Twelve years later, he’s on medication, doing exceptionally well and living in the community under supervision. Now he’s applying for a conditional discharge, and his victim is terrified he’ll stop taking his meds and find her again. Four-time Emmy award-winning director John Kastner gained unprecedented access to the doctors and the police who investigated the crime, as well as to the victim and her parents, whose traumas remain real and palpable.
