Milk Trailer (2015)

Trailer for Milk.

Women’s bodies are at the forefront of this sweeping cinematic look at the politics of breastfeeding and birthing across five continents. The global market revenue for commercial baby food is $58 billion a year, with $5 billion spent on marketing, so it’s no wonder so many women all over the world have a difficult time deciphering what’s best for themselves and their children. Both political and investigative, director Noemi Weis sheds light on the choices women must make in motherhood. She also explores the stigmas associated with the medicalization of birthing versus midwifery and the use—or abuse—of commercial infant formula. As much a call to action as it is a celebration of life, Milk’s stunning visuals are woven with poignant voices from around the globe to present an informative and thought-provoking examination of modern motherhood.
