Foreign trailer for August Fools.

August Fools is a charming tribute to love—as well as a moving portrait of a tense, troubled era. It’s 1962, and an international "Festival of Friendship" has brought innu- merable "cultural delegations" to Helsinki. Among them (in addition to the thinly dis- guised KGB spies and CIA foils) are Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, a lovelorn Lee Harvey Oswald and a sad-faced Czechoslova- kian saxophonist who hopes to win back the Finnish woman he has pined for since World War II. His object of desire is Elsa (the inimi- table Kati Outinen, of Kaurismaki film fame), a hat-shop owner and part-time clairvoyant whose niece Minni also finds romance in the eclectic mix. As Chubby Checker’s "The Twist" becomes a tool of international diplomacy, politics and paranoia stand in the way. In the end, a timeless question remains: Can love prevail?
