When you shoot a film called Map to the Stars you'd expect some filming in Hollywood, Beverly Hills or other parts of the Los Angeles area. Since the requirement was there, film represented the first time David Cronenberg ever filmed in the United States, though he did spend more time in Canada; even on this production.
