Trailer for Mad.
After a late-in-life divorce, compounded by bi-polar disorder, Mel (Maryann Plunkett) is well past the point of a nervous breakdown. When she checks herself into the local psych ward, her two adult daughters, Connie (Jennifer LaFleur) and Casey (Ellis Cahill, “Dad’s Dead”, FFF 2014), whose lives are equally complicated, bicker constantly over who will take care of mother. The sisters air vicious personal grievances—some trivial, some poignant—with the kind of laser accuracy that only family members can callously hurl at one another. Complete opposites, Connie is successful at business and married with two children, while Casey is jobless, single, and trying her hand at erotic fiction and testing her stories out at her new writing group. In this blend of both off-the-wall comedy and powerful drama, FFF alum Robert G. Putka trains an expert eye on a very authentic dysfunctional family, perfectly conveying the heartache and hilarity that holds a family together as they simultaneously tear each other apart.
