Logan Lucky Trailer

Trailer for Logan Lucky, starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig and Riley Keough.

Trying to reverse a family curse, brothers Jimmy (Channing Tatum) and Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The production shot at Charlotte Motor Speedway during the actual NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 and the Bank of America 500, as well as at Atlanta Motor Speedway. In a fun twist, six NASCAR stars pop up in non-driver cameo roles in the film.

While the ensemble behind Logan Lucky is already impressive, it should be noted that, at one time, Michael Shannon and Matt Damon were also on the film's callsheet. The pair had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts. Of course. And they weren't the only ones to leave production. Katherine Heigle had to step away due to pregnancy, and was quickly replaced by the accent-toting Katie Holmes.

If Adam Driver and Daniel Craig look comfortable sharing the screen, know that this is the second time they've been on a set together. Just in case you forgot, Daniel Craig was a cameo stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The same soldier that helped Rey get free.

And, speaking of Craig, he committed to his role in the comedy by bleaching his hair to pull off the look of Joe Bang.

The Logan Lucky trailer looks pretty dang hilarious. There is something comfortable about seeing Channing Tatum and Adam Driver play brothers under the direction of Steven Soderbergh. The only thing that troubles me is the film's current August release. That month is typically saved for the leftovers, which would either mean that this film is the diamond in the rough or, even with all the talent, it's going to be a turd.

No judgment yet, but fingers are crossed that this comedy hits all the right marks.
