Trailer for Life on the Line, starring John Travolta and Kate Bosworth.
Life on the Line follows the lives of a crew of eccentric and courageous power line workers who do the extremely dangerous work of fixing the crumbling electrical grid. John Travolta stars as Beau, a salt of the earth man who blames himself for his brother's death and raises Bailey, his orphaned niece (Kate Bosworth). His worlds collide when Bailey's handsome lover (Devon Sawa) joins his linemen crew on the eve of a massive and deadly storm that threatens to rip their lives apart.
Film premiered at the Napa Valley Film Festival and the early feedback from that was not great. Life on the Line was described as clumsy and low budget, hurting its chances of finding a large distributor.
Save for the cast, everything about Life on the Line trailer feels low-budget. Sure, there's some okay effects when it comes to accidents and destruction, but the camera work feels cheap and the sound editing is terrible. At first I hoped the trailer had bad audio, but that's not the case. Perhaps some better post-production could have at least saved the dialogue and the recording of that dialogue, but we can only assume that the budget was already used up on the casting process.
At least John Travolta can pull off looking rugged...
