Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell get work together again. Both actors starred in Straight Outta Compton.

Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons were originally attached to the film, but both had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. John C. Reilly took over Keaton's role while Samuel L. Jackson replaced Simmons.

The film takes place during the late 1960's.

Hmmm....not sure why Warner Bros felt the need to remake the classic Kong once again. With a budget of $190 million WB seems to be all in on this project and confident that it will transfer into a box office hit.

They do have a great cast along with some stellar CG. But this is just quite the tease with only a glimpse at Kong, the character that we are more than likely supposed to fall in love with and root for.

While the film looks great and seems like a spectacle, I am still on the fence wondering why? Hopefully there is something there that makes this film necessary but as of right now, WB has some convincing to do.
