There was a time when director Matthew Vaughn saw Kingsman as a starring vehicle for Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The actor, however, turned down the role, requiring auditions from the likes of Jack O'Connell, John Boyega and Taron Egerton. Edgerton landed the part because Vaughn saw something easily likeable about the actor.
Film looks like a lot of fun. While having Matthew Vaughn at the helm should be enough to suppress any doubts, the film's exceptional casting also helps.
