The creative minds behind the hit Insidious trilogy return for Insidious: The Last Key. In the supernatural thriller, which welcomes back franchise standout Lin Shaye as Dr. Elise Rainier, the brilliant parapsychologist faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet: in her own family home.
The film is written by co-creator Leigh Whannell (Saw), who wrote the trilogy and directed Chapter 3; produced by Insidious regulars Jason Blum (The Purge series, Get Out), Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) and co-creator James Wan (The Conjuring, Furious 7); and directed by series newcomer Adam Robitel.
Director Adam Robitel previous work only includes The Taking of Deborah Logan. He is also slated to Direct The Maze starring Deborah Ann Woll, Logan Miller and Taylor Russell which is currently in Pre-Production.
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions is financing Insidious: Chapter 4, and domestic distribution will be handled by Universal Pictures. Sony will handle international distribution.
The group is back for another Insidious film, the fourth in the franchise. And this one looks to fall in line with the formula James Wan created back in 2010. There will be plenty of edge of your seat tension, plenty of scares, and plenty of nightmares.
Insidious fans should feel assured that the main actors are all returning plus all the creative minds behind the franchise (Jason Blum, Oren Peli and James Wan) are over watching every step. That is a great sign as they must believe that this fourth film is worthy of them putting their names and reputation behind it.
