Inside Disaster Haiti Feature Trailer (2011)

Feature trailer for the documentary Inside Disaster Haiti.

More than 250,000 people died in Haiti during a devastating earthquake in January in 2010. Another 300,000 were injured and half a million lost their homes. Help from humanitarian organisations from countries around the world, including People in Need, was not long in coming. Even for very experienced humanitarian workers, however, the Haitian mission was a very tough ordeal. The film's authors focused on the Red Cross and they set about comprehensively detailing the difficulties that its workers had to cope with on the ground. In the course of the first month, they managed to pull 132 people from the rubble. Thanks to UN aid, basic food supplies managed to get to nearly two million people, despite the dramatic circumstances. With chilling authenticity, this documentary captures the extent of the catastrophe and it also records both the stories of victims of the earthquake and those who tried to help, often by putting their own lives on the line. At the same time, it uncovers the reasons that motivate humanitarian workers to do this dangerous work.
