Here we go again...another sports movie based on an underdog who comes from nothing to rise to the top. This is the typical formula Hollywood loves and so do moviegoers for sport films.

The one thing this film has to differentiate itself it from the other boxing films is the top notch actors. With Robert De Niro and Edgar Ramirez at the helm you have what may look like Oscar bait and then there are plenty of supporting actors to bring everything together.

After seeing the credits it took me a second viewing to even notice that it was the singer Usher playing the infamous Sugar Ray Leonard. Will be very interesting to see what he does with this role.
