Trailer for Gun Shy, starring Antonio Banderas, Olga Kurylenko and Ben Cura.
When vacationing in Chile, an aging and pampered rock star’s (Antonio Banderas) supermodel wife is suddenly kidnapped by renegades. Unable to navigate more than ordering a sandwich from room service, now he must take to the backstreets of Santiago in this hilarious caper that is as entertaining as it is hair-raising.
When Turk Henry (Antonio Banderas) gets committed to a hospital in the film, a news crew appears in the shot. As it turns out, the crew was real. But they knew nothing of the character Henry, and instead just wanted to land an interview with Banderas.
When you see a goofy actioner such as this from a smaller distributor set for release in September of all months, the immediate assumptions is that it is not going to be good. A leftover movie, if you will. But, the trailer for Gun Shy starts fantastic, and immediately draws our attention with great editing, Antonio Banderas looking absolutely hilarious, and the always-beautiful Olga Kurylenko. The premise, at least at the beginning, felt fun too.
But, by the time we get into the trailer's latter half, the film somewhat comes off the rails. The only reason a theatrical viewing might be in store is strictly because of Antonio Banderas. He looks to be having a lot of fun here, and that might just be infectious enough to draw a crowd.
