Feature red band trailer for The Brothers Grimsby starts by taking a look at some of Sacha Baron Cohen's more controversial roles, before jumping into his latest character.
He's gone over the top. He's gone below the belt. But now he's going under cover. Sacha Baron Cohen is back.
MI6’s top assassin, Agent Sebastian Grimsby (Mark Strong), has a brother who is not MI6's top anything. Unfortunately for him, Norman 'Nobby' Grimsby (Sacha Baron Cohen) an English football supporter from the town of Grimsby. Now these two will be forced to partner up and discover that there is no better team than family. Well, sometimes.
Our assumption is that about half of moviegoers know about Sacha Baron Cohen's first major character, Ali G, so it's great to see him getting a bit of exposure before this red band trailer for The Brothers Grimsby.
Depending on what country you live in, the film might just be called Grimsby. We personally don't have a preference.
Absolutely adore the fact that they went with Ludwig van Beethoven's classical piece "Ode to Joy" for this Grimsby red band trailer. Not only does it fit the visuals, but it also can't help but make viewers think of another all-time actioner, Die Hard. Was this done intentionally? Hard to say, but we'd like to think so...
Even though this represents the fifth trailer for the film, the preview finds a way to show a ton of never before seen footage including a shot of Nobby (Cohen) accidentally sticking a firecracker deep up his a**. Toss in more great dialogue and further confirmation that Mark Strong is completely comfortable playing roles in comedic films; he actually reminds me a bit of RocknRolla here, but without the hair.
And have we mentioned how well the editing works with the music? Bravo.
