Gotti Trailer

Trailer for Gotti, starring John Travolta in the title role.

Gotti follows infamous crime boss John Gotti's (John Travolta) rise to become the "Teflon Don" of the Gambino Crime Family in New York City. Spanning three decades and recounted by his son John Jr. (Spencer Lofranco), GOTTI examines Gotti's tumultuous life as he and his wife (Kelly Preston) attempt to hold the family together amongst tragedy and multiple prison sentences.

Theatrical Trailer

Long before the biopic was in the can, Gotti already had a fair share of legal trouble. Well, maybe "fair" isn't the right word, but listen to this. It turns out that Joe Pesci was initially offered the role of Angelo Ruggiero. At least, according to him. To prep for the role, Pesci put on a whopping thirty pounds. Considering his stature, that sounds like a lot of weight. But, I digress.

After stacking the L-B-S-es, Pesci learned that he would instead be playing a different role. The actor wasn't having it, quickly filing a $3 million Breach of Contract lawsuit. And he wasn't the only actor to have some drama with the production.

It is rumored that Lindsay Lohan was a bit of a nightmare for the production team, thanks to her management team's demands. Due to these demands, she was quickly dropped from production. The actress herself reach out to producer Marc Fiore, requesting that she be allowed to keep her role. And how did that turn out?

Well, you won't see her in the film. So there.

While I initially had little interest in this film at the time its production was announced, the Gotti trailer is somewhat impressive. Starting off with Travolta's accent, the film quickly descends into what looks to be quite the crime caper. My only question is how accurate the film's portrayal of the subject matter will be. Hollywood can't help but embellish certain facts, but the actions of Gotti himself should provide plenty of useful material.

"This life of ours is a wonderful life... If you can get away with it."

Great quote, and I am now going to look up if he really said it.
