When four lifelong friends—Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish—travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there’s enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.
The film is Directed by Malcolm D. Lee who is also responsible for The Best Man franchise, Barbershop: The Next Cut.
It is also Produced by Will Packer who previously worked on Ride Along, Think Like a Man franchises, and Almost Christmas.
And, one of the Writer is Karen McCullah. She also wrote Crazy Kind of Love, The Ugly Truth, The House Bunny, She's the Man, Ella Enchanted, Legally Blonde & 10 Things I Hate About You.
Now the girls get a chance. We have had plenty of bachelor party movies featuring the boys letting loose and getting crazy, but not many featuring the women partying up before saying "I Do". And we all know that girls can party harder than boys, especially in New Orleans.
Based on this teaser trailer it does not look like this film will go the Hangover route and have some raunchy craziness, but I could be wrong. It is rated R, so we will have to see if down the road we get a red band trailer. Because right now this looks just like an "ehh" movie that I will skip in theaters and may watch if my wife decides to watch it on Netflix
