Get Out Trailer

Trailer for Get Out.

In Universal Pictures’ Get Out, a speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of The Visit, Insidious series and The Gift) and the mind of Jordan Peele, when a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation.

Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods).

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

This film is Jordan Peele's Directorial debut.

Jordan Peele is best known for his role on the TV series Key and Peele with Keegan-Michael Key.

Just last year Jordan wrote his first feature film, Keanu, with Keegan-Michael Key. The film was about friends who hatch a plot to retrieve a stolen kitten by posing as drug dealers for a street gang.

Actor Daniel Kaluuya, who plays the main boyfriend in the film, has had several appearances in feature films before: Sicario, Kick-Ass 2, Welcome to the Punch and Johnny English Reborn.

Upon immediately knowing that Get Out is written and directed by comedian Jordan Peele you get ready for a funny movie. While watching this trailer I kept waiting for the film to take a turn to the spoof direction, but it never turns. The trailer keeps getting darker and darker.

I must say that Jordan has a very unique film story here. I have not seen anything like this and I am still trying to wrap my head around what I just saw. This film seems out there and a bit slow for my liking. I think there will be people out there who may be excited to see this, but I am not one and will most likely skip this one.
