Theatrical Trailer for First Man, starring Claire Foy, Ryan Gosling, Pablo Schreiber, Kyle Chandler and Ciarán Hinds.
A look at the life of the astronaut, Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969.
If you were thinking First Man was the sort of film you can see Clint Eastwood directing, you wouldn't be far off. He was actually attached to direct but dropped off later. The replacement, Damien Chazelle, is using First Man as a debut of sorts. The director typically only gets behind the camera for scripts he had a hand in writing.
Damn. There is a lot to like here. First, love that the production seems to have put a lot of faith in Ryan Gosling. The guy has no problem taking the lead, especially when supported by a strong ensemble. And, judging by this new trailer for First Man, the casting director may be deserving a bonus.
Besides the cast, the film's cinematography is insane. I wouldn't even know where to start when attempting to describe all the cool visuals (and angles).
It's so awesome, I'm having trouble putting it into words. I do have a complain, however. The trailer does make the fatal flaw of pretty much giving away a big chunk of the movie. We know the overall story, sure, but some of the space travel bits could have been held a bit closer to the chest.
