Death Doesn't Like To Be Cheated

Tony Todd was in the first two Final Destination films as the coroner. In the third movie, he only provides a voice and is credited as the devil. He was not in the fourth film and returns for the fifth entry.

A music video was made for the song “New Romance” by Miles Fisher and was released to coincide with the release of Final Destination 5. The video features the actors dying in creative ways much like the films.

One of the rejected death scenes for the group of people to escape was in a water park. The opening disaster that was chosen which takes places on a collapsing bridge is the longest scene of all five movies with a 4 minute and 44-second disaster scene.

The trailer for Final Destination 5 is like any of the four before it, only with a few new ways for people to die horrible deaths. This time, the group of young people escaped a bridge collapse, which returns to a more reasonable and common fear rather than the race cars flying off the road in The Final Destination. We all know what happens next, a few of the people somehow avoid the collapse but are soon followed by death and get killed in disgusting ways that make them wish they just plunged into the abyss of water and drowned like everyone else on that bridge. Candyman, er, Tony Todd once again explains to these young people what is going to happen and why it’s going to happen. Doesn’t this coroner guy get sick of telling the same story?

Maybe he should just have copies of the first few movies to pass out to these unlucky folks, it would save him time. With each of the Destination movies, there is a new batch of nasty ways to die and the trailer for this one involves laser eye surgery, ick. Who isn’t already terrified when things involve the eyes? The closing moments of the trailer show a guy getting acupuncture only to fall on the needles. Yuck. I certainly hope these people were unaware of the impending death before they went in for these things, otherwise, they are just super dumb.

The trailer for Final Destination 5 is more of the same, but if you are a fan of the franchise, it most certainly shouldn’t disappoint.
