Trailer for Fighting with My Family, starring Florence Pugh, Dwayne Johnson, Lena Headey, Vince Vaughn and Stephen Merchant.
Based on a true story, Fighting with My Family follows reformed gangster Ricky, wife Julia, daughter Paige and son Zak as they make a living wrestling together in tiny venues. When Paige and Zak get the opportunity to try out for WWE, the family grabs a once-in-a-lifetime chance to turn their wildest dreams into a dazzling future. However, brother and sister quickly discover that to become superstars, both their talent and their relationship will be put to the test.
Fighting with My Family is a heartwarming and smart comedy that proves everything is worth fighting for when it comes to family.
While attempting to film the wrestling sequences between between Paige and A.J. Lee, the fans kept interrupting production by chanting A.J.'s husband, CM Punk. The Rock stepped in, and actually called Punk with the recording of the audience chants. WWE didn't like this, since they still have ongoing beef with Punk.
Is this film a true story? Yes, as it is based on current WWE superstar Paige and her family.
I would have never thought we'd feature a trailer about a film that presents a biopic involving the WWE. But certain factors just kept piling up. Such as the fact that the film is written and directed by Stephen Merchant, who represents a brand of comedy that is typically very enjoyable. So there is that. And then you look at the callsheet for the cast. Wow! Quite the ensemble supporting this small comedy. Nick Frost looks awesome, and then we are presented big parts from people like Dwayne Johnson, Vince Vaughn and Lena Headey.
So, this film instantly piques our interest. And now we have the trailer for Fighting with My Family. Not only does the preview provide tons of charm, but we also respect the choice of music. Jumping from classical to hip hop.
All in all, everything looks pretty great. So consider us surprised.
