Fifty Shades Darker Feature Trailer (2017)

Feature Trailer for Fifty Shades Darker.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Darker, the second chapter based on the worldwide bestselling "Fifty Shades" phenomenon. Expanding upon events set in motion in 2015’s blockbuster film that grossed more than $560 million globally, the new installment arrives for Valentine’s Day and invites you to slip into something a shade darker.

When a wounded Christian Grey tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.

Also returning from Fifty Shades of Grey are Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini, who are joined for the first time by Oscar winner Kim Basinger, Hugh Dancy, Bella Heathcote and Eric Johnson.

Fifty Shades Darker is directed by James Foley (Fear, House of Cards) and once again produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Marcus Viscidi, alongside E L James, the creator of the culture-spanning blockbuster series. The screenplay is by Niall Leonard, based on the book by James.

Fifty Shades Darker Feature Trailer Screen Shot 1While Director James Foley did not direct the first Fifty Shades of Grey movie, he has directed the second one and already slated to direct the third film, Fifty Shades Freed, due out the following year right before Valentine's Day 2018. Foley has also previously directed the following feature films:

Perfect Stranger
Confidence
The Corruptor
Fear
The Chamber

After the first film, one of the most common complaints was about Christian Grey. Since most women had previously read the book before seeing the film, they had a vision of him in their heads and Jamie Dornan was not the perfect fit. A lot of women did not like the look of a cleanly shaven Jamie Dornan, they though it wasn't sexy enough. So, the producers decided that Grey could keep his stubble for Darker and Freed...that rougher look.

Not too much new here in this trailer. It focuses on the thriller aspect of the film more than the sex aspect. We get a few peaks at some of the naughty parts, especially the dinner scene. I love when he tells her to "take them off" and then they cut to the elevator scene which gets erotic.

Fifty Shades Darker looks to have more plot depth. While the focus will still remain in Christian and Anastasia, we get new characters that play a more integral part to the plot. Plus we get Director James Foley to tie everything together, who is great at bringing the thriller part to life.

I also like how they now introduce an antagonist to the mix and you get the sense that Anastasia's life is in danger. Like I said before, the hot and heavy sex part from the first film will still of course be there, but this sequel looks to bring more substance.
