Fences is directed by Denzel Washington, who has also previously Directed The Great Debaters and Antwone Fisher. Denzel has now also starred in all 3 films he has directed.

Fences is written by both Denzel Washington and August Wilson. The screenplay is adapted from Wilson's play which won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 1987 Tony Award for Best Play. It is the sixth in Wilson's ten-part "Pittsburgh Cycle".

The film is produced by Denzel Washington, Todd Black (The Pursuit of Happyness, Equalizer) and Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, Truman Show).

This is a great teaser trailer. When I saw the run time I thought it was going to be too long to be a real teaser, but it sure does an excellent job at introducing the film. The teaser focuses mostly on one intense between Troy (Denzel Washington) and his son

I could feel the power and intensity coming from Denzel during the scene where he is trying to explain to his son whether or not he "likes" him. I was like wow, that is a powerful way to set your son straight. And then Viola Davis gets her turn as Denzel's wife and holy crap! You can feel the anger and she delivers one of the most powerful performances I have seen in a while.

All in all this looks great. The story is very compelling, the actor looks incredible and now we just have to wait to see if Denzel can deliver it all in a nice package. Like the teaser is supposed to accomplish, it gives the audience just enough but wants us wanting more.
