Aziz, a middle-eastern Swedish immigrant, is good looking, a brilliant cook, and expecting to become a grandfather for the first time. Life is good, or at least better than for his coworkers: Juan has his way with the local women but worries excessively about his aging Labrador Dino, while Jörgen, the boss’s son, fears his wife might be flirting (or worse) with the contractor who is remodeling their house. However, for Aziz, all is not as it seems. His son and daughter-in-law, unable to conceive naturally, have faked their pregnancy as they await an adopted child. In order to divert his attention from their ruse, the couple suggests the long-widowed Aziz start dating again. Ambivalent at first, Aziz soon jubilantly plunges into the local singles’ scene, receiving plenty of assistance from Juan and Jörgen.
