Protectionism and free trade are controversial issues that can have a tremendous impact on a nation's economic success and sovereignty. With their livelihoods already threatened by an influx of imported agricultural products, farmers across South Korea protested the impending policy, doing everything from rallying in the face of heavily armed riot police to confronting store owners who sold US beef.
