With the French revolution quickly spreading from Paris to Versailles, Queen Marie Antoinette (Diane Kruger) makes plans to flee for her life. Her servant Sidonie (Léa Seydoux) tries to please the Queen, with whom she is in love, but finds her spirit crushed by Marie Antoinette's frenetic and mercurial demands.
