End of the Line Trailer B

in End of the Line | Posted on June 20, 2009 Runtime: 2:05

The world is running out of fish, and it's due to the most efficient predators the world has ever known-humans. If we continue to overfish at the present rate, scientists estimate that the fish we know and love (to eat) will disappear from grocery shelves and seafood counters by 2048. Goodbye grouper, toodles tilapia, so long sushi. In the wake of the 1990s cod collapse, journalist and author Charles Clover focuses on the imminent depletion of commercial stocks of bluefin tuna as the latest example of a species on the verge of extinction. Trawling, fish farming, big business, politicking, and lack of law enforcement all contribute to this deep-running dilemma. The End of the Line is an upsetting wake-up call that demands a moral examination of our greed and stupidity. No water is safe as long as humans are hungry and a demand exists.
