A seen-better-days Barranquilla apartment complex is the setting for this droll comedy of high-rise tenants on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Zoila, a woman of a certain age and the building administrator, obsessively follows the advice of her TV psychic. The embalmer Justo (played by Cuban star Jorge Perugorría, also director of Amor Crónico playing in this year’s Festival) is temporarily at odds with a client and must store a dead body in his living room, to the horror of his wife, Margarita. Meanwhile, the elderly Graciela, fighting to keep her husband Humberto’s illusions intact, gives him a photo of Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men and convinces Humberto that this is his military pilot son. The hijinks are ratcheted to skyscraper-high levels.
