Despicable Me 3 Theatrical Trailer (2017)
Theatrical trailer for Despicable Me 3.
Besides learning of his twin brother, Dru, Gru is now up against his most formidable villain to date. Meet Balthazar Bratt, voice by South Park's Trey Parker, a former child star who remains obsessed about a character he once played... in the 80s.
Will this be Steve Carell's last Despicable Me installment? Well, according to him, it most certainly is. But, on the other hand, he's already agreed to appear in any future animated installments where there will be Minions. So, let's just assume he's keeping the door (wide) open. And, if the film does well at the box office, it should, then he could be more encouraged to give Gru another shot. Unless of course, Gru dies in this installment.
Impossible and morbid? I know...
Universal Pictures has now shown a purposeful approach to the trailers for this animated adventure. While the first trailer focused entirely on the villain, the second focused entirely on the twin, Dru. So, wouldn't you know it, the third trailer finally mixes the two story arcs together to provide something more.
The only decision I'm not really liking is the song choice. While the earlier trailers featured "What's the Difference" from Eminem/Dr Dre, this new take decided on another selection from Eminem's library. "So Bad" might work as a title, and the lyrics, but the beat isn't nearly as cool.
Splitting hairs? Most likely, as the film does look pretty fun.
