After Isabel (de Armas) watches a man step into thin air on the subway platform, she is certain that she has witnessed a miracle. The next day, Detective Joey Harper is found dead in her neighborhood with one of her shoes nearby. His partner, Detective Scott Galban (Reeves), is assigned to the case. As he investigates further, he begins to unravel secrets about Joey that the police force would rather remain hidden.
