Marcia Gay Harden stars in Alison MacLean’s thrilling debut feature as Lane, an American traveler in New Zealand who survives a car crash that hospitalizes her journalist friend Christine. Upon visiting a famous writer for an interview, Lane first takes up with the writer’s teenage daughter Angela before starting an affair with him. Angered, Angela befriends Christine in the hospital, and when Christine is released, she goes to Rotorua to find Lane and the writer. There the four characters meet and the film comes to a disturbing and vengeful climax.
